Hello all!
I have been completely distracted in graduate school for 2 years, and now I have my thesis year to go. I will do my best to share WIP pictures from now on. I wasn't sure what to post before because I have been working on one large installation instead of several small projects.
I thought I would share part of what I became aware of in the last two years about my process:
I do a lot of experimenting in my studio which has been leading me to my grad school finale also known as my thesis show. My challenge is to bring all the elements I have developed and bring them together in an interesting way.
Empirical I make decisions based on my observations and experiences with my materials. I put my materials in many situations and respond to the possibilities I see visually.
Chance my process develops around a need to allow for chance and surprise
Transformation coming back into my studio and discovering a transformation has taken place over night. Collaborating with forces beyond myself.
Experiments Starting multiple low risk experiments and selecting the form and material with the most versatility.
My work started out as a very experimental process, but the further I take this process the more regimented it gets.
I will share more images in the future, I promise, but if you want to see more frequent progress you can go here:

I also have some good news!!! I am going to Japan for the month of May! I am doing a residency in Kyoto that is put together by an amazing artist by the name of Kohei Nawa. [link]
Hope everybody has an amazing summer!
